Witnessing the heartbreaking situation of stray dogs left behind can bring tears to anyone’s eyes. Nonetheless, not every mother dog possesses the same level of bravery, resilience, and maternal instincts as Si Bao.
This dog was left behind by its owner and had a terrible accident where her hind legs were crushed by a train. Si Bao’s life seemed hopeless until she had four adorable and healthy puppies, who became the reason for her existence despite her difficult situation.
Si Bao regained her zest for life after becoming a parent and maintained a positive, sturdy outlook to care for her offspring. She strolled on her hind legs while keeping a vigilant eye on her little ones.
Si Bao, the heroic mother dog, received a stroke of luck when the nonprofit Animals Asia rescued her family. She has now become an animal ambassador and moved with her son to the organization’s headquarters, leaving behind her previous struggles of earning a livelihood from scraps of food thrown by travelers at the train track. The only surviving pup, Muddie, is her sole companion. Si Bao’s new name is Lelly, and she is set to receive wheeled prosthetic legs for better mobility. Sadly, three of her four pups passed away due to high fever before the rescue.
Lelly is living the dream as an ambassador for animals in Asia. Despite being a small dog, Lelly possesses an unwavering spirit that refuses to succumb to challenges.
